Global Ransomware Outbreak: WannaCry Virus 2017

This is not the first time in the history of ransomware outbreak. From April 2014 to March 2015 the number of the affected users were 1,967,784 to 2,315,931,(3.63%) and the situation still remain unchanged.

Now this times it is WannaCry Ransomware which hit more than 150 countries and locked your Important Data, asked for a password when you want to open them after that ask for ransom amount of money for the password to unlocked, even it is not sure you will get the password or not. it is also considering the largest Cyber crime outbreak of all the times

 Many Antivirus developer sets up updates but end of the day it doesn’t help us. It is mainly spreading through torrents file,Email ,any unwanted link, or any recent unwanted updates installation. News are also blaming Microsoft for this outbreak, most the affected computers OS was not up to date likely windows 7, Windows 8.1 etc., but those have windows 10 upgrade operating system they are lightly secure, even Bangladesh Government also sending social awareness among lots of user to upgrade their operating system to Windows 10.

 So, what are you waiting for? Upgrade your Operating system

• This malware just backfiring its creators. It is upsetting but true that this tools has been used by hacker to spreading it through computers to computer.
• WannaCry Virus attacks many of the Organization Includes UK health Services even in Bangladesh many Organizations have to close their Daily Internet Activity for the day. Bangladesh government also put lot of effort to avoid this Virus that why to gather public awareness keep texting by the name of BTRC to upgrade operating System to Windows 10 and download security Patch from Microsoft Store.

Know which can get your Computer hit by WannaCry Ransom Virus?

1.  Suspicious Email, that says you that your computer needs attention for vulnerable bugs
2.    Untrusted Torrent Downloads specially the PDF file , one of my friend hit by this reason and first they encrypt then ask for $300 .
3.    Non upgrade OS like Windows XP, Windows 7 , 8, 8.1
4.   Google chrome user, don’t you prone to any alert like HoefletText font wasn’t Found -  this is causing by Ransomware attack, they will asked to add this tools , don’t you ever chop down to this trick.

What you can do now?

Make your Personal Computer upgrade to windows 10 and its Up-gradable version 1607 if possible, turn on Smart Screen, if you don’t know where to find it follow the Instruction

Setting > Search – Smart screen - turn them on like the following pictures

Again Setting > Search – Change Smart Screen setting then follow the pictures,

Search this on search box 

go to Security and maintenance and make it to *Always Notify 
Next go on Control Panel > Windows Firewall and check all this are in this way or not

Control Panel > Windows Firewall > Customize setting  - Set it like it was given

then select Firewell with advance Security> Inbound Rules  and check that selected bar are blocked or not ,if not block them 

By doing this it will ask your permission to enter anything unusual or if anything before installing , you want to install it or not, if it looks suspicious do not install it , that now totally up to you.
